San Diego Rep Latinx New Play Festival

Maria Patrice Amon founded and produces the annual San Diego Rep Latinx New Play Festival, a celebration of new plays written by Latinx playwrights across the United States.

Each year a team of community and academic readers consider over 80 original script submissions to ultimately select four outstanding scripts to feature in the festival.

The festival also provides a platform for actors, designers, technicians of color to share their artistic talents through playwright panels, historical context panels, designer meet and greets, and a curated gallery of visual art.

Past festival playwrights include Herbert Siguenza, Ric Salinas, Diana Burbano, Lily Padilla, Cristina Quintana, Guadalís Del Carmen, and Augosto Amador.

Every year the festival brings over 500 guests to the San Diego Repertory Theatre.
